Assessment at HCC
In 2000, the Assessment Committee, chaired by a part-time Assessment Coordinator, was formed under Teaching and Learning and charged with identifying student learning outcomes. When the Assessment Coordinator resigned in December 2004, no one directly worked on assessment efforts until July of 2005, when a full-time Director of Learning Outcomes and Assessment was hired. Since then, the focus on assessment has been aimed at modifying the existing plan and integrating student learning outcomes by connecting course outcomes in courses in transfer academic areas to institution-wide outcomes and course outcomes in required program courses to program outcomes .
