Retention and Success

Although course grades do not provide specific information on students’ mastery of learning outcomes, grades do provide general information that is readily available about student performance. As a result, faculty and administration use retention and success rates in courses, programs/academic areas, and the institution as a whole to gauge the success of instruction.
